Here they present widely differing numbers: Echo Song from 16th-century Italy is followed by the Québec folk song Quand j'étais chez mon père; the black spiritual I Couldn't Hear Nobody Pray contrasts with I'se the Boy That Builds the Boat, from the fishing hamlets of Newfoundland; and finally a special arrangement of Schubert's Ave Maria.

Daniel Barenboim conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker in performances of Beethoven's 'Triple Concerto' and 'Choral Fantasy'. Itzhak Perlman and Yo-Yo Ma are joined by Carola Höhn, Katherina Kammerloher, Andrea Bönig and Endrick Wottrich, amongst others.

Luminous choral music on the theme of peace, performed by one of the world’s finest choirs and recorded at Peterborough Cathedral. There are also sumptuous works by John Taverner, Will Todd and Arvo Pärt in his 90th birthday year. The Sixteen is led by conductor Harry Christophers. Presented by Hannah French.
